This week, we finally held a proof copy of Rebel in Blue in our hands. Although its cover was wrapped with a band saying ‘Not for Resale’, I am chuffed to see Dad’s book in my hands and finally seeing plans that have been in place for a year or more coming to life.
Here she is…

Through Reedsy, we managed to collaborate with Andy Bridge in designing this cover. Andy’s impressive portfolio includes Yann Martel’s Life of Pi and Hilary Mantel’s Bring up the Bodies. To have the opportunity to work with somebody like Andy was incredible and, with Reedsy making it possible, goes to show how independent and self-publishing is becoming a huge force in the world of literature.
We strongly felt that this cover represents the sense of unity and camaraderie within the Irish Brigade whilst paying homage to the blue of the Union Army. I particularly love the silhouetted figures making their way across the novel, imagining calls of ‘Faugh a Ballagh’ and ‘Erin go Bragh’ as they run toward the enemy – fighting an ocean from their beloved homes on the Emerald Isle.
We hope it’s a cover that Liam would be proud of and we are very excited to see it in hands of our readers.
